Marika Kuzma

Marika Kuzma was invited to be the chef de chœur of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra for their 2007-08 season. During this period she was also director of the St. Lawrence Choir. Marika prepared and/or directed both choirs for a number of concerts, including “Sing We Noël” (with Buzz Brass ensemble),  Weihnachts-Oratorium – Bach (with the OSM), Tannhäuser – Wagner (with the OSM), Missa in tempore belli – Haydn (with Ensemble Amati), Vespers (Всенощное бдение) – Rachmaninoff (with the Orthodox Men’s Choir of Montreal) and Requiem – Verdi (with the OSM).

Marika Kuzma has gained recognition in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond as a choral director and has directed choirs across North America, including the St. Lawrence Choir, the Handel Society of Dartmouth College, the University of Virginia Singers, the Oakland Symphony Chorus, and several choirs at the University of California, Berkeley where she has been since 1990.
